The Wayland Special Education Parent Advisory Council welcomes all parents and caregivers of children in our district with learning differences and special needs. The SEPAC’s goal is to share information, educate caregivers on the special education process, and discuss matters of interest and concern regarding our children and the Wayland Public Schools. Whether your child has been on an IEP or 504 Plan for years, or you’re just beginning the special education process, we encourage you to join our group!

Basic Rights Workshop: Understanding the IEP

Thursday, March 9, 2023, 7:00-9:00 p.m. via Zoom

This presentation will delve into the Individual Education Program (IEP) document, its development, the breakdown of each section and understanding how the document will support a student. Workshop Topics: Why the IEP is Important,  Who is eligible for an IEP, How the IEP is Developed, Strengths and Concerns, Vision Statements, IEP Sections including PLEP A & B, Annual Goals and Service Delivery Grid, Differences between Accommodations and Modifications,  Response, Placement and Consent, Procedural Safeguards and more!

This Workshop will be presented virtually on Zoom by the Federation for Children with Special Needs. Please register for the workshop here.

SEPAC Annual Survey: The Wayland SEPAC conducts an annual survey of parents/caregivers to determine the strengths and weaknesses of special education services in the district. The survey will be sent out after February break, so please keep an eye out!
